Working with Stonehouse Consultants and Edgington Spink & Hyne Architects for our client, Vale Property Developments, Savvy Construction were pleased to hand over the new-build design & build contract to construct 14 private dwellings on a brownfield site. Due to the site's proximity to the River Thames and thus high water table level, this tricky project involved CFA piled foundations and constant de-watering during substructure works and drainage and services installations. As a former industrial site, the land required remediation from contamination and the installation of gas-proof membranes to the new houses. From the ground up, this scheme comprised traditional masonry structures with trussed rafters and tiled pitched roofs, along with bespoke canopies, sliding sash windows and high-end finishes throughout.
