Stephen Dunne ACIOB

Savvy Group Managing Director

Stephen commenced his career in the construction industry 30 years ago as a trainee surveyor following his academic training at City of Oxford College. Stephen has since extended his construction qualifications by obtaining a qualification in Construction Management from Oxford Brookes University.


Over the years, Stephen has worked on a variety of projects and sectors as a Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager on Local Authority schemes such as housing associations, schools and leisure centres. He subsequently worked on larger projects around the UK for Hartwell Plc, acting as Senior Project Manager.

Stephen maintains a hands-on approach to the business, project managing and directing a highly skilled team of individuals through numerous multi-million pound schemes.

David Dunne

Director of Maintenance & Renovations

David is a qualified Electrical Engineer. In addition to his core training, he has gained considerable experience of environmental controls within a pharmaceutical background, having managed contracts with Abbots Laboratories for many years.

David is responsible for the special projects for Savvy Maintenance & Renovations. He manages a variety of staff with various experience drawn from all trades. He has project managed many projects to ensure the maintenance and preservation of clients' buildings. These include numerous Oxford Colleges which have all become to rely on the proactive and reactive service Savvy Maintenance and Renovations can provide.


Jon Peart BSc (Hons) MCIOB

Director of Construction

Stemming from a surveying background, 
Jon graduated with a Construction Management Degree with Honours. He went on to successfully achieve chartered status with the CIOB, Jon continued to push his career forward with the delivery of numerous multi-million-pound schemes while working for some of the region’s largest contractors.


Obtaining vital construction experience in the education, residential, local authority and commercial sectors provided Jon with the knowledge and the impetus to establish a successful partnership in the formation of Savvy Construction. Now working as Construction Director.

Jon has played a pivotal role in growing the company from scratch to a key player in the regional construction market.


Jamie Hickman BSc (Hons)

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Jamie joined Savvy Group in 2015 having spent some 15 years with Leadbitter Bouygues Group. Jamie graduated with an Honours Degree in Construction Management in 1999, while gaining vital experience playing a key role in the commercial function in the delivery of many multi-million pound schemes throughout the South East.

As a lead Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years of experience, Jamie has a keen eye for detail and procedure 
and ensures complete control of the commercial side of a project.

Paul Mitchell

Senior Project Manager

Paul has worked for Savvy Group for a number of years, successfully delivering a wide range of projects in a multitude of sectors. From a trade background, Paul worked his way from carpentry-based site work through to site management after showing a flair for management and an eye for detail.

Paul has control of Health & Safety, programmes, resources and quality control and is IOSH trained. Paul’s ‘can do’ attitude provides the impetus to the rest of the delivery team to ensure
that projects are delivered on time and to our strict level of

Gary Smith

Project Manager

Gary started life as a trainee carpenter with a flair for woodwork. After becoming highly skilled, he joined Savvy Group as a working foreman delivering a large number of demanding college and care home projects over several years. He worked his way up to the Site Manager, delivering on-site solutions on larger and more demanding projects.

Gary subsequently
became a Senior Project Manager and recently moved into his current role as Construction Manager. Gary is highly regarded by all the clients and the Savvy Group Team for his proactive and diligent approach.

Julian Seago

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Julian is a highly respected Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years’ of experience in the UK construction industry gained from numerous types of projects including renovations, listed buildings, commercial structures, care homes and residential developments in both the public and private sectors, with values up £12.5m.

Rob Cruickshank

Construction Manager

Stemming from a trade background, 
Rob has extensive experience in project planning, execution, and management. He is adept at building, leading, and training cross-functional teams to improve project outcomes and deliverables.

He has experience in all forms of construction from reinforced concrete frames to more traditional brick and block structures, developing his skillset on many different project styles from listed buildings to stand alone industrial units. His project values range from £1m to £15m.
Rob is a driven individual who has spearheaded multiple major construction projects from conception to completion over the last 20 years.


Dominic Russell


Dom is an experienced estimator with a Diploma in Construction and Built Environment. He has been responsible for compiling detailed and competitive tender submissions across a number of sectors over the last 10 years, including numerous successful tenders for large multi-million pound projects across the South East.


Dom is a diligent member of the team who is always happy to discuss projects with clients.

Steve Bartlett

Senior Estimator

Steve is an experienced Senior Estimator, who has worked for major and well-established contractors. He has over 30 years of estimating experience and has extensive knowledge of compiling detailed, competitive tenders. He is versed in all forms of construction contracts & procurement routes and interrogates cost and VE opportunities. Steve always seeks to offer product and methodology solutions to reduce cost and programme timescales.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Lee joined Savvy Group after spending 18 years working for local and regional contractors, He gained vital experience and played a key role in the commercial function in the delivery of many schemes across a varied spectrum of sectors throughout the South East of England, up to the value of £38m.  


Lee graduated with an Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management from Oxford Brookes University and is also a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Quantity Surveyors and is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Lee has a keen eye for detail and procedure and ensures complete control of the commercial side of a project. He has the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Martin Harrell BSc (Hons)

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Martin graduated from the University of Westminster with a degree in Quantity Surveying. Since then he has worked both as a sub-contractor and main contractor on a variety of sectors and has been involved in high profile projects like upgrading the main Energy Centre in the BBC’s White City, St. Charles Hospital Refurbishment, RAF Halton, The Strand and a NHS high dependency unit during Covid at Watford Hospital. 

Martin has successfully delivered projects in the sectors of Education, Health, Residential and hotel new builds as well as refurbishments of offices, listed buildings and schools.

Ian Austin BSc (Hons)

Commercial Manager 

Ian has worked as an Estimator and Commercial Manager for the past 12 years in the high-end residential sector. 


Following graduation with a degree in Construction Management in 2001, Ian worked as a Quantity Surveyor and subsequently gained a Diploma in Quantity Surveying.


Ian went on to become a Commercial Manager and has been instrumental in securing significant projects in London and the Home Counties as well as undertaking the commercial management of them.

Ian has a strong grasp of both the practical and business side of projects, ensuring delivery to specification from a build and financial perspective.

Curtis Piper

Assistant Project Manager

Curtis started his working career at Kier Workplace Services as an assistant project manager, focusing on commercial projects. He subsequently joined their Facilities Management team, with responsibility for multiple projects ranging in value.


Curtis joined Savvy Group in 2019 as an Assistant Site Manager and has been promoted to Assistant Project Manager working on new build projects across all sectors.

Kayleigh Preston

Business Development Executive 

Kayleigh has worked in Business Development across many sectors throughout her career, including the NHS and the charity sector. She is responsible for helping to support the expansion of the business and management of the tender process.

She is a diligent and organised member of the team and works closely with the directors, surveyors and estimators to help onboard, manage and deliver new projects.

Project Manager 

Mark has worked within the construction industry for over 10 years working for large regional main contractors.

His experience is multifaceted, comprising a variety of new build, listed and heritage refurbishments, high-quality residential, universities & colleges, leisure facilities, and educational project management.


Mark has a degree in Construction Project Management and is currently working towards his Chartership.
