This Design & Build scheme comprised a refurbishment of a 96 bedroom student accommodation block with ground floor conference and catering areas in the heart of St Hugh’s College, Oxford.
Works involved the removal of existing student shower pod arrangements and strip out of
mechanical, electrical, fixed furniture and FF&E, the installation of new bespoke shower pod
units, the installation of new fitted wardrobes and the internal refurbishment of each student
bedroom, incorporating floor finishes, decorations and FF&E. Common areas were refurbished with new decorations throughout, new floor finishes and improvements to fire stopping/compartmentation to the service risers.
MEPH services installations included new hot water installations, upgrades to the service risers, new electrical distribution boards throughout, new lighting, power, data and access control installations and new mechanical ventilation. Ground floor conference, office and catering areas were refurbished with a new commercial kitchen, re-sealed timber flooring, decorations and new FF&E throughout.
Incredibly, this project was started and completed within a 10-week contract period, assisted by over 50 tradespeople on site, 12 hours per day, 7 days per week, much to the delight of our client, St Hugh’s College, Oxford.
